I will forever be the girl with too much hair, too long of legs, way too much coffee, an inappropriate sense of humor, a genetic knack for being a con-artist, a secular-idealist perspective, a restless spirit, and an endless to-do list. I love maps, coffee, Pi Phi, calla lilies, travel guides, airports, cupcakes, sushi, sunshine, bare feet, bubble baths, other languages, and puns. I am constantly seeking my next grand adventure or flashy escape. I hope to leave a positive impact on the world, or at least a few smiles and footprints in my wake.
❝ It’s a terrible thing, I think, in life to wait until you’re ready. I have this feeling now that actually no one is ever ready to do anything. There is almost no such thing as ready. There is only now. And you may as well do it now. Generally speaking, now is as good a time as any. ❞
❝ … the socialization of boys regarding masculinity is often at the expense of women. I came to realize that we don’t raise boys to be men, we raise them not to be women (or gay men). We teach boys that girls and women are “less than” and that leads to violence by some and silence by many. It’s important for men to stand up to not only stop men’s violence against women but, to teach young men a broader definition of masculinity that includes being empathetic, loving and non-violent. ❞
